Hi, I'm a seasoned marketer, communicator, and digital expert with 14 years of experience spanning multimedia design, video production, and content creation. Initially, I worked in entertainment as a production assistant and visual effects compositor. With a BS in Media Arts, I later founded Irontree Films and worked as a marketing consultant and brand strategist for small to mid-size companies until 2015. Currently, I serve as a Digital Media Specialist for the University of California Cooperative Extension. What I Do

Video Production

I specialize in creating video content across various digital platforms. With extensive experience in project management, I've directed and produced videos for small to medium-sized budgets, covering promotional, product, educational/training, social media, and website content. Whether working independently or leading a production team, I can handle all aspects of the production process. This includes managing budgets, orchestrating lighting setups, operating technical camera equipment, overseeing talent, mixing audio, writing scripts, and utilizing green screens. Additionally, I'm proficient in non-linear editing software like Premiere Pro, visual effects programs such as After Effects, and audio editing tools like Adobe Audition.

Front End Web Development

Over the past 7 years at UC Cooperative Extension San Diego, one of my focuses has been on developing and maintaining websites. I've primarily utilized the proprietary CMS, SiteBuilder, but also have proficiency with WordPress and Mezzanine. Additionally, I've built websites from scratch using HTML, CSS3, and JQuery. I prioritize creating engaging and accessible websites, leveraging plugins, widgets, and my expertise in front-end coding to achieve unique and user-friendly browsing experiences.

Marketing

My primary focus in marketing has been on crafting organic search engine optimization, establishing brand identities, and fostering online communities across platforms like X, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. In the past, I have employed advanced strategies, including inbound marketing tools like HubSpot, to execute drip campaigns, email blasts, short-form video content, and blog posts. I also collaborate with academics to publish articles and abstracts in our quarterly newsletter. I track performance metrics using Google Analytics and manage social media scheduling through platforms such as Hootsuite, Sendible, or Sprout Social.

Graphic Design

When I was a consultant, I specialized in various design tasks, including developing brand style guides for new businesses, creating logos (both static and animated), designing business cards, flyers, signage, website banners, brochures, and print ads for trade publications, among other projects. Currently, I continue to utilize these skills by creating materials like our quarterly newsletter, annual report, posters, and graphics primarily for web and social media platforms. I'm proficient in Adobe Photoshop and comfortable using the full Adobe suite. I also stay up-to-date on new features, such as generative AI, to remain current with design trends. Additionally, I sometimes use Canva for quick concept generation when time is limited.
